Wow. The last month has been amazing. The pob is definitely a toddler now. Here’s a reminder for us for the future…
He has learnt to sign so many signs:
Wow! 31 signs and counting!
He’s like a sponge, he literally learns a new sign each day. He’s so funny, he gets so excited that he can communicate a new sign that he does it all day long. So when he learnt light he would get dad to carry him round the house and tell him ‘light’ ‘where’ on it would go, then ‘light’ ‘gone’ and dad would dutifully turn off the light. This game lasts a long time. At first he will sign something not quite correctly, so mouse (point your finger in the side of your nose and twist) started with a pointy finger in the back of his head, gradually the finger is making its way to his nose! Star started off the same as light but he has now perfected the one-two motion finger flick. Is newest sign is horsey. He signs it loads. I swear he must’ve dreamt about horses last night as he woke this morning saying woof woof and signing horse. The ‘my first’ books have hugely helped us, he adores going through them and signing images he knows.
So talking, he can look at a photo and recognise if it’s mumma or dadda, mamama, dadada. He can say wooooooooo (woof), aaaaaat (cat), boooooo (book).
We’re trying to learn please and thank you at the mo, he is a little crank though and knows what he wants and shouts to get it!
He can kick a football and say gooooooooal.
He’s learning to run which is very funny and is often accompanied by panting!
He likes to play in the garden. He painted for the first time today. He still has milk in the morning and evening. He adores Hadta his ikea dog, carries it everywhere.
His development amazes me and I’m terribly proud. Particularly of his signing and sounds he makes. I put it down to everyone signing around him, I’m sure it’s helping his speech development.
Anyway, that’s it. Love my pob more each day.
